Ellis Tanner Trading Company in Gallup is owned by a fourth generation Indian trader who opened his business in 1967. The store carries a wide variety of jewelry, art and objects including basketry, textiles, and paintings and features the Navajo Bookstore offering a selection of printed books written by Navajo and Native American authors. the business features the Circle of Light murals painted commissioned by Tanner in 1994 and painted over 7 years by Navajo artist Chester Khan.
