Plains Art: A Survey, Morning Star Gallery, Santa Fe

Morning Star Gallery’s 42nd annual summer exhibition and sale, “Plains Art: A Survey,” will present a diverse and exceptional group of Plains- related material.

Included in the show will be 10 ledger drawings from several of the most significant and recognizable ledger books to ever come to market; two early 19th century pipe stems with inlaid Catlinite bowls; a mid-19th c. Southern Plains partially-beaded bow case and quiver with pony track designs, a published quilled and beaded Central Plains rifle case (see “A Beading Heart, the Sandroni Collection,” page 67), and an Arapaho beaded tobacco bag with a seed bead woven panel and extra long “hand pulled fringe”, c. 1860s.

The show will open with a reception Saturday, August 8 from 6-8 pm.
